SOPHOMORE SLUMP (The Brokerdealer)
Greetings from the second stage. These comeback questions get so cliched. These interviews go on for days. And we've been itching to invade you. And it don't feel like a comeback. No, it don't feel nothing like that. It feels like I'm just getting born. And it's been wet and it's been warm. And I've been stretched between the storms. But I still kept you informed. Said the thimble to the thorn. I've never gotten pricked before. Spinning drunks in bottom bunks. Sucking off the sophomore slump. Sweet Jesus, someone call the paramedics. Another favorite singer slipped and tripped and hit his head and forgot he was a genius. It caused an alarm up on the third floor where the publicists sit. Because they'd already sent advance copies to the journalists. And said critics called and said they didn't really like it. They said it's too bad, the man used to be a genius. There must have been an accident. He used to be a genius. He had to go and change it. He should have called us and asked us. Maybe we could have produced it. We would have told him it was already perfect. It reminded us of college. Spinning drunks in bottom bunks. Sucking off the sophomore slump.
